Apply TodayRespite caregivers work one-on-one in a family's home with a child or adult who has a developmental or intellectual disability. Shifts are typically a few hours at a time on a schedule authorized by the regional center, and you're placed with the same families so trust can build over time.

Support with grooming, toileting, dressing, mobility, and transfers as outlined in the care plan for that individual.
Preparing simple meals and snacks, feeding assistance when needed, and tidying up the areas used during your shift.
Watching for seizures, behavioral triggers, choking risk, or elopement, and following the household's documented safety protocols.
Clock in and out in the app, log completed tasks, and collect the parent or guardian's sign-off at the end of every visit.
